EDTC 814 Advanced Effective Models of ELearning

At an advanced level, this course focuses on concepts and strategies necessary to step into a leadership role in the integration and application of technology and E-learning. Students explore delivering instruction through multimedia and/or multiple modalities with a focus on matching appropriate technologies to learning outcomes. Students will also explore the role of leadership in balancing the priorities of technology integration and curriculum decisions.

Project 1: Everest

With the dramatic setting of a Mount Everest summit expedition, this award-winning team simulation teaches group dynamics and leadership. Students play one of 5 roles on a team of climbers. Teammates must share information to maximize group achievement and avoid the perils that threaten the group’s ability to reach the summit and meet its goals

Project 2: Higher Ed Case Studies

This project is designed to promote your ability to assess a situation, evaluate the potential options and then develop goals and solutions. Effective models of eLearning aren’t just about creating effective instruction, but about delivering that instruction. You will apply the essentials of instructional design to the case studies in higher education below.

Project 3: Leadership Vision and eLearning Plan

Each candidate will create and share a vision of e-learning for a workplace, generate a technology plan that supports that vision, and write a proposal seeking funding for all or part of the plan.
